Over the last 25 years the mailing industry has been constantly evolving. Originally, the only option for international mail was Royal Mail International but today most clients are aware of the competing services offered by numerous foreign post offices based in the UK as well as private operators. Today the big players are acquiring the medium sized companies leading to greater consolidation in the mailing industry.

This trend is leaving more room for niche players like PLI that have the flexibility to provide a tailor-made service and cherry pick on behalf of our clients from a wider choice of international services from our global network. PLI provides an independent management service with no allegiance to any particular service unless it offers the ultimate solution.

Our experience shows that most corporate organisations tend to use one of the major postal authorities or private companies and hope that they are getting the best combination of price and service. If things go wrong or prices rise they often have to go through a lengthy re-tendering process to effect change.

An alternative way forward

PLI offers an alternative in the form of providing an independent management service which can:

Identify the possibilities for cost savings against the incumbent supplier.
Identify the best routing for price and service considerations to suit the profile and transit requirements on a mailing-by-mailing basis.
Closely manage the fulfilment and distribution of the mailings process on behalf of PLI clients.
Make changes to any parts of the distribution process which are not achieving the pre-determined service aims without the need to tender for a new supplier, i.e. be immediately responsive to any emerging issues.
Pass on cost savings that become available from any new routings that PLI develop on behalf of its clients.
PLI can work on either a cost plus basis or as principles providing an all encompassing tariff. In either case a single invoice can be supplied.
The bottom line: PLI is effectively a broker of mailing services using its buying power and access to a huge range of services to provide cost effective and reliable solutions to our clients.
